NYC hotel throws a ‘purrty,’ feline fashion show

NEW YORK (AP) — There were ‘‘meowdels’’ wearing couture and a cat-tastic crowd: The annual feline fashion show at The Algonquin Hotel had both felines and cat fans purring in approval.

The event occurred Thursday night in Manhattan. It’s a fundraiser for the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, which helps support more than 150 animal shelters and rescues in New York.

Organizers say more than $10,000 was expected to be raised, fueled in part by $75-a-pop ticket sales and a silent auction.
